Supporting Rigpa UK

Since ancient times, the spirit of generosity has been a defining characteristic of the Buddhist tradition.

Rigpa UK was the first of many international communities to be founded by Sogyal Rinpoche. It was formally incorporated as a charity in 1979 and now has many groups and regional centres around the UK, including the national centre in London. So many important teachings given by eminent contemporary Buddhist masters, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, have been hosted by Rigpa UK over the past 35 years, benefiting thousands of people.

Today, as the Buddhist teachings spread throughout the modern world, your support is needed more than ever.

In order that our programmes and activities can continue to help people in the most effective and beneficial way possible, your support is very much needed.

A UK Network

Help preserve the Wisdom Culture of Tibet in the UK. Our network of regional groups and our National Centre in London play a vital role in running Rigpa’s study and practice programme from the South Downs to Northumberland and all points in between. You can help to support the Rigpa UK community and the dissemination of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition in an authentic manner around the UK.

Tsok and Practice Intensives

As well as our programme of practice with our sangha (which moved online from March 2020 in response to Covid-19), Rigpa UK also sponsors a programme of major practice intensives (drupchen) and prayer gatherings (mönlam). These practices, a unique feature of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, are considered to be especially powerful for bringing peace in the world, harmony to the environment and benefit to all living beings. You can make a meaningful connection to these practices through making an offering.

Retreat Assistance Fund

Many UK students do not have the means to attend teachings or retreats, especially those who are elderly or have long term health conditions. You can help those dedicated students, many of whom support our work in other ways through volunteering their time and skills, by making a donation to our retreat assistance fund.

Tax Effective Giving. Rigpa UK (registered as The Rigpa Fellowship, charity number 279315) has full charitable status with all the accompanying tax benefits. If you are a UK tax payer please ensure you tick the Gift Aid box to increase your donation by 25%.

Thank you for your generosity!
