Lunchtime meditation in London

Open to everyone. Suggested donation £3.

Get the most out of your working day by joining our lunchtime meditation sessions in London every Thursday from 12:30 to 13:30. No registration is required, you simply show up.

About the sessions

These lunchtime meditation sessions are open to everyone – whether you are brand new to meditation or you have meditated before. There is no need to book in advance: each session is self contained and you can join or leave every 15 minutes when a bell is rung. Or you can simply relax your meditation method, have a quick stretch and stay longer.

The session gives us an opportunity to settle the mind in the peaceful atmosphere of an authentic Buddhist shrine room. No formal instruction is given, however sessions are held by experienced and friendly meditators who are happy so share their understanding.

When you arrive you will be greeted and shown around the building. We have a cloakroom where you can leave your shoes along with jackets.

Lunchtime Meditation FAQs

Do I need to be Buddhist to attend?
No, people of any faith or background are welcome to join. While our methods of meditation are in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, they are all conducted in a spirit of open enquiry. The methods and benefits of meditation are relevant for those of any spiritual tradition or those of none.

What should I wear?
You can wear whatever you like. If you choose to sit on one of the meditation mats & cushions that are provided, you may prefer to have clothing that isn’t too tight. This isn’t a requirement however, and many people choose to sit on a chair also. Best is to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Also, the shrine room has underfloor heating for the colder months, and we also provide blankets incase you happen to feel chilly.
